  14. Beautiful photos! My Grandfather Gunder was from Norway…he came over to America the first time by himself when he was 13…he was ship wrecked in the Azores but finally made it to Nebraska first…he then decided to ventrue further west and homesteaded land in Eastern Oregon. I am very blessed to live in the house he built for his mother Anne Marie, my Great Grandmother. He built the house for her in 1920 and my Dad remembered hauling lumber with his Dad from a small town 8 miles away to build the house. Grandpa had brought his brothers and one sister over from Norway and he wanted to bring his Mother. My Great Grandfather had passed away in Norway. Anne Marie was 74 when she came to live here in the middle of no where! She lived here until her death in 1938. My parents were married in 1939 and moved into the house and I grew up here in the same house. I love it as growing up knowing my Grandpa built the house for his Mother taught me so much about heritage and family….respecting your parents. At the time he built the house he and Grandma who also was Norweigian, had 7 kids. My Grandpa passed away a few years before I was born so I did not get to meet him but I feel like I know his heart. I have not been to Norway yet but hope to travel there someday and see where my family came from:)

      nice to meet you, I’m so glad you found me! Thank you very much for your family backgroundstory, what a big and small world. I do hope you get the chance to come and see Norway one day, it’s beautiful. Whereabout in Norway did they com from?
      My dear norwegian frened in Cambridge is named Anne Marie, I love that name, it’s clear and fresh, alsmost like norwegian air to me. 🙂

  21. Da bleibt einem ja die Luft weg bei diesen schönen Fotos. Selten so schöne Bilder gesehen. Ganz großartig und zu Recht ist sie die Naturfotografin des Jahres in DK geworden. Ganz großes Kino!

  31. Wow! Da bin ich ja neidisch. Ich war ja auch öfters im coolsten Land der Welt, in Grönland, aber solch tolle Bilder sind mir nicht gelungen. Ganz herzlichen Dank

  33. The first one and the last one are my favourites. The first because of the unseen sight and the last one because of the possibility to see a starting bird instead of a diving whale. (Oh, this English feels really ugly and incorrect.)

    Es ist wunderschön, überraschend und man kann Julies Atmung fühlen.

  51. So viele Kommentare, das sind aber auch ganz grandiose Fotos und warum ich nicht kommentiert hatte? Manchmal schaffe ich meine täglichen Blogrunden nicht und jetzt ist auch noch soviel Arbeit und ich werde bald wieder ein paar Tage Blogpause einlegen müssen, sonst gehe ich am Stock 😀
    Das Programm was ich nutze ist ganz einfach, kostenfrei und wenn man ein bissel Zeit und Geduld hat, dann hast du das bald alles raus.

  53. ui, diese Photos entdecke ich erst jetzt, mir bleibt die Spucke weg bei so viel atemberaubender Schönheit. Besonders das erste Bild ließ mich den Atem anhalten. Das zweite Bild erinnerte mich an eine Walflosse, die dann auch noch wirklich kam, vielen, vielen Dank fürs zeigen-

    wow I discover this photos just now, my breath stopped, especially by the first photo, which is so beautifull. By the second photo I thought about a fin of a whale, what then became reality – great photos! Thanks a lot for showing
