Wonderful news – Klausbernd and our two Bookfayries Siri and Selma from kbvollmarblog are on their way to this blog!
All ready and set to move in! 🙂 As from January 2014 the four of us will run this blog together. Why? You can read all about here, also in German for our German readers.
Siri and Selma are two lovely, absolutely adorable bookfayries. They are also strongly opinionated, it’s not always easy being a bookfairy-mum, I can assure you. 🙂 You can imagine what discussions we’ve had so far about the title of the blog … We have not yet changed the name, but a few weeks ago, when Rambling Brother suggested “Northern Minsdcapes”, we were ready to go for it at once. It sounds so fresh, crisp and cold! Klausbernd even created new logos, the whole lot, if you know what I mean. Then Stefano presented “The World according to the Fabulous Four” we thought that’s a great name combining both the blogs and there were lots more suggestions. Well, what do you think? 🙂
Anyway, as soon as we see clearly where the preference is going, it’s a bit misty at the moment :-), we’ll let you know. Our topics are quite clear though; we’re going to write about the North that we all love so much. Siri and Selma will further write about their Master’s and Dina’s world and all their hang ups in both German and English. Every writing is a selfie of the authors and I’m sure Siri and Selma will sign their work with the unbearabe lightness of a fairy.
We are going to work joyfully together, knowing that (un)right thoughts and right efforts will inevitable bring about right results, better posts and more fun. 🙂 In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend, everybody!
Wie nennen wir diesen Blog ab Januar? Mit “The world according to …” sind wir vier sehr verbunden, aber warum nicht etwas ganz Neues? Rambling Brother schlug “Northern Mindscapes” vor…, toller Name, oder? Stefano präsentierte “The World according to the Fabulous Four”, da waren wir auch hin und weg!

I am so looking forward to your collaboration. I share your love for the north; summers that never see darkness and bitterly cold winters where darkness is dispelled by the glittering northern lights. 2014 is going to be a great year!
“But especially he loved to run in the dim twilight of the summer midnights, listening to the subdued and sleepy murmurs of the forest, reading signs and sounds as a man may read a book, and seeking for the mysterious something that called — called, waking or sleeping, at all times, for him to come.” Jack London, The Call of the Wild

Hallo Susanne,
eine Namensänderung ist einfach zu bewerkstelligen. Ich habe meinen Blog, der ursprünglich “All Souls College Oxford” hieß, in “A Readmill of my Mind” umbenannt. The World according to Dina” überhaupt ändern wollen.

Libe Magdalena,
vielen Dank für deinen Ideen und Anregungen! Super! :-).

i read somewhere in the internet that norway is seen as the country that is most in touch with its beautiful nature. the swedes see them as unhygienic fish-eaters, and the danes see them as calm and easy going people. finally finns and norwegians argue over who owns the aurora borealis, crazy isn’t it. who knows, perhaps you can bring some “northern lights” into this case and your bookfayries bite the ones barking the loudest. yes, i look forward to seeing you all. sirpa

Siri and Selma were absolutely thrilled with delight as they read your lovely comment, Sirpa! 🙂 They ‘d love to bite the ones barking the loudest, hehehe.
The Norwegians are not only in touch with the nature of their country, they are also said to have an almost erotic relationship with this nature, well that’s what they say in Sweden, anyway. 🙂
The beauty of Norway always have an immense effect on me. Have you been there, have you felt this impact yourself? We hope to present some glorious northern lights soon. 🙂
Thanks a lot for visiting. I’d love to go to Switzerland again soon, I’ve hardly seen anything of your beatiful country.
Have a happy weekend!

my first contact with norway: as a kid i traveled with my parents through scandinavia and i still remember the smell of the stockfish drying under the sun. that was in hammerfest 😦 fortunately my visit, at a later date, in the archipelago of lofoten, made me almost to forget the scent of fish :)… you see, i was born in south-east finland. but since several years i spend every summer some eight weeks in my soul landscape, in lapland. my squirrel nest (near muonio) is the very best place to have lazy, chill out holidays. from there it’s a short hop to the norwegian border. me, i love the majestic nature of norway, my husband is a passionate fly fisher for salmon, therefore we are quite often seen quest over there.

I’m interested to know how you are going to merge the blogs, will you import one into the other, or just start again from new. I want to merge a couple of mine so wondering if in fact it is possible. Anyway, good luck with it all. 2014 is going to be even better by the sound of it 🙂

Yes, Northern Mindscapes sounds great, doesn’t it?
Oh no, Jude, we are not going to merge the two blogs in the way you are thinking of – that would be an awful lot of work. We take the easy way: from January will look forward and work together on this blog, like a new chapter. The former kbvollmarblog will not be deleted, only “closed”, no commentary etc.
It will still be there, which means that Klausbernd can use it as an archive and link former post to his new posts. He has written many topics on the North on kbvollmarblog, but this blog was not so clearly focused on the North as we will be here in the future, this will be more like a nordic magazine. That’s why Northern Mindscapes would suit us so well. A fresh start with a new name, clearly focused on the North.
You have several blogs, Jude. I can only recommend you to merge them into one. In order to remain a happy blogger! 🙂 The WordPress Support Theme are helpful with questions like this. Or post something about, there are may skillfull bloggers out there, all willing to guide and help each other. The topic would be interesting for other bloggers with 1-2-3-4 blogs as well. As you expand, the blogs will eat more and more of your time. That’s the reason why we get together, also in order to share the work. It will surely not be 50% less work, as we naively tought at the beginning, 😉 biut still it will be an improvement and then time will tell.
Thank a lot for your feedback! Have a happy weekend, take care.

Hallo Hanne,
