What to blog about?

We were busy contemplating what to blog about during our gardening and household routines. It’s not that we haven’t enough material. Dina has lots of beautiful pictures, and our Master has his head full of philosophical ideas. But how do we bring pictures and texts together in a way that makes sense?

Jetzt haben wir vier uns bei der Garten- und Küchenarbeit hin und her überlegt, worüber wir bloggen könnten. Nicht, dass wir nicht genügend Material hätten. Dina hat Mengen feiner Bilder und Masterchen hat den Kopf voller eher philosophischer Idee, aber wie führen wir beides sinnvoll zusammen?

Of course, we could blog about our everyday life as our dear friend Pit does it so charmingly, or we could participate in these photo challenges. All this seems not to be our way. Our life is (fortunately) not exciting enough. It’s shaped by gardening and reading, photographing and volunteering on Blakeney Point. Photo challenges with a set topic are not our cup of tea either. Our dilemma is, we neither run a photoblog nor a literary blog. It’s quite a disadvantage that we can’t be clearly classified. Every blog expert warns against this.

Klar, wir könnten über unser alltägliches Leben bloggen wie es z.B. unser lieber Freund Pit aus Texas anmutig macht, wir könnten auch an diesen vorgegebenen Foto-Challenges teilnehmen, aber das scheint uns alles nicht so befriedigend. Unser Leben ist (zum Glück) nicht so aufregend. Es ist von Gartenarbeit, Lesen, freiwillige Arbeit mit Büchern für die Gemeinde und am Blakeney Point und Fotoausflügen geprägt. Foto-Challenges mit vorgesetztem Thema sind nicht unsere Sache, da wir keinen reinen Fotoblog betreiben, aber auch keinen reinen literarisch-philosophischen Blog. Das wir nicht klar einzuordnen sind, ist ein Nachteil, vor dem jeder, der sich mit Bloggen auskennt, warnt.

So we have no other choice but to wait for the muse’s kiss. And if she doesn’t like kissing? Then we rather pause as we just did. Isn’t it a myth of the blogosphere that you have to post constantly? On the other hand, fear lurks of losing followers or falling into oblivion. “Would that be so bad?” ask Siri 🙂 and 🙂 Selma with their fairy-wisdom. What’s the point to watch the numbers of followers, likes and comments. It just produces stress.

So bleibt uns nichts anderes übrig als zu warten, bis die Muse uns küsst. Und wenn sie nicht zum Küssen aufgelegt ist? Dann pausieren wir lieber, wie wir es gerade taten. Ist es nicht ein Mythos der Blogosphäre, dass man ständig posten muss? Auf der anderen Seite lauert da die Angst, dass wir Followers verlieren, dass wir in Vergessenheit geraten. “Wäre dies denn so schlimm?” fragen Siri 🙂 und 🙂 Selma in ihrer Feenweisheit. Was bringt es denn, auf die Anzahl von Followers, Likes und Kommentaren zu schielen außer Stress?

It’s our challenge to combine text and picture comely as it was done beguilingly beautiful in the illuminated manuscript of the middle ages. In a scriptorium, the monks didn’t do anything else than to illuminate the texts with divided responsibilities. But we are far from living like in a monastery. Were the illuminated manuscripts produced for the honour of god so we don’t know at all for whatever honour we produce our blogposts.

Für uns stellt sich die Herausforderung, Text und Bild anmutig zu verbinden wie es teils betörend schön in mittelalterlichen illuminierten Manuskripten gelang. In den Schreibstuben taten sie allerdings auch nicht anderes als die Texte mit Buchmalereien zu verzieren und das dazu noch arbeitsteilig. Wir leben allerdings alles andere als klösterlich. Produzierte man in Scriptorien diese Manuskripte zur Ehre Gottes, so ist es uns überhaupt nicht klar, zu welchen Ehren wir eine Blogpost erstellen.

In short, we don’t have an aim why we blog. Is it egotistical just for recognition? We lack a higher aim that goes beyond that. The ideal would be the wedding of text with pictures like our Master and Dina complement each other. But towards what goal? Or do we blog for the sake of blogging?

Kurzum, wir haben kein deutliches Ziel, warum wir bloggen. Ist es nun egoistisch, dass wir Anerkennung bekommen? Uns fehlt ein höheres Ziel, das darüber hinausgeht, haben wir im Gefühl. Ideal wäre die Hochzeit von Text und Bild, eben so wie Dina und Masterchen zusammen leben. Weiterhin bleibt die Frage zu welchem Ziel. Oder betreiben wir Bloggen um des Bloggend Willen?

Our new religion is ecology, to which we feel obliged. This topic can unite text and picture quite well, but blogs about ecology look different to what we intend. Most of them are too depressing. “We want to entertain our readers and convey joy!” Our Bookfayries insist on that.

Unsere neue Religion ist die Ökologie, der wir uns verpflichtet fühlen. Unter diesem Thema können sich Text und Bild bestens vereinen. Aber Blogs mit Ökologie als Thema sehen anders aus als das was wir machen. Oftmals sind sie uns zu depremierend. “Wir wollen doch unsere Leser unterhalten und Freude vermitteln!” Darauf bestehen unsere Buchfeen.

We ask you in our need why do you blog.
We suppose if you have a clear goal why you blog then you will get lots of ideas for blogposts – or is this futile hope?

In all unserer Not fragen wir euch, warum bloggt ihr denn?
Wir glauben, wenn man ein eindeutiges Ziel hat, warum man bloggt, dann fallen einem viele Themen für Blogposts ein – oder ist das eine vergebliche Hoffnung?

    Um Ideen in Worte zu fassen und zu schauen, wie man sie mit Anderen diskutieren kann?
    Um In Kontakt mit Anderen zu bleiben?
    Auch Belana’s Blog ist wohl nicht klar einzuordnen. Das tut meinem Spaß aber keinen Abbruch. Die Menschen sind so verschieden mit so unterschiedlichen Ideen, Ansprüchen, Zielen, da findet sich wohl für jeden Blog eine kleine Leser/innen-Gruppe. Und wenn nicht, bleibt immer noch der Spaß am Schreiben 😉

    • Liebe Belana,
      uns scheint, dass der Spaß am Schreiben nicht genügt – weder für einem selbst noch für die Leser. Wir haben das Gefühl, man benötigt eine Message, eine Botschaft, die meist der Ausdruck der bewussten oder unbewussten persönlichen Ideologie ist. Es geht ja weniger darum, eine Leserschaft zu finden, sondern uns geht es eher darum, etwas auszudrücken, das nicht nur uns wichtig erscheint, also eine Botschaft, die über das Individuelle hinausgeht. Jede Veröffentlichung geht über das Individuelle hinaus und ist in dem Sinn auch politisch.
      “mit Anderen diskutieren” führst du an. In den Blogs, die wir besuchen, wird äußerst selten diskutiert. In dieser Hinsicht sind die meisten Blogs wohl eher Lobhudelungsmaschinen. In englischsprachigen Blogs ist alles beautiful, wonderful etc. und auch in deutschen Blogs finden äußerst selten echte Auseinandersetzungen statt.
      Uns ging’s darum herauszufinden, warum wir überhaupt bloggen bzw. wie Bloggen sinnvoll sein kann und was wir und man mit Bloggen bewirken will.

    • Spaß ist nicht alles (völlig richtig), aber ohne Spaß ist alles nichts (im Wesentlichen, nicht im Detail).
      In diesem Sinne ist für mich der Spaß die Grundlage des Schreibens.
      Ansonsten sicherlich eine Art “Selbstausdruck” – meine Lebens- und Denkweise zeigen als EINE mögliche Alternative zu leben, als Anregung für Andere, ob davon für sie was passt oder eben nicht. Die Kommentare als Anregung für mich über meine Sichtweise nachzudenken, mich in den Anderen, in deren Reflexion zu entdecken.
      Ist das eine Botschaft? Vielleicht. Für mich aber eher ein Anliegen, warum ich blogge.
      Geht das über mich hinaus? Vielleicht in dem Sinne, dass diese Lebenssicht geprüft werden kann, ob sie “massentauglich” und nachhaltig ist.

      auch für uns ist das Bloggen eine Möglichkeit, ein Korrektiv für unsere Ansichten zu bekommen. Das geht über die subjektiven Ansichten hinaus. Allerdings, wie gesagt, ist Kritik leider bei den Kommentaren der Blogs eher rar. Danke für deine kritischen Anmerkungen.
      Offen zu sein für andere Meinungen und für Kritik ist eine, wie wir finden, wichtige Botschaft. Aber zunächst muss man über etwas bloggen. Da Bloggen immer auch Veröffentlichung bedeutet, sollte das über das Individuelle hinausgehen. Veröffentlichung bedeutet doch, stets auf die Wirkung auf die Rezipienten zu achten, für die der Sender verantwortlich ist.
      Habe ganz herzlichen Dank für deine Kommentare, die uns zum Nachdenken brachten.

    • Inhalt (=Botschaft?) und Form müssen zusammenpassen, sonst kriegt man die Botschaft nicht rüber, denke ich.
      Auf Belana’s Blog bezogen würde das bedeuten, dass die Art und Weise der Darstellung der Lebenssichten die inherente Botschaft gleichfalls zum Ausdruck bringt. Das gelingt mal besser und mal eben nicht so gut…

    • Wähend meines Germanistikstudiums wurde viel über die Form-Inhalt-Frage diskutiert. Ich bin schon der Ansicht, dass die Form dem Inhalt entsprechen muss. Manchmal denke ich auch, dass die Form der Inhalt ist. Brecht hat viel darüber nachgedacht (in seinen Schriften zum Theater).
      Aber da hast du wohl recht, es gelingt längst nicht immer, dass die Form den Inhalt unterstützt. Ich finde, dir gelingt das doch oft gut.

  2. My Blog started out as a way to share memories of my past and present with my family but I found that wasn’t enough for me. Then I used it as a platform to help me lose weight. That helped for awhile but my weight is an ongoing battle so I needed to do something that gave me joy. I love taking photos of flowers, trees and water. Consequently I found photo challenges that made me go out with my camera and look for subjects for the blog. I also found that my blog motivates me to make art and share that with my blogging friends. I still write about my family and my travels (although I haven’t seen much of them or done any travelling this past year). So as you can see I’m all over the place and I’m okay with that. Carol

  4. Why do I blog? A very good question….I started out quite some years ago, when I dabbled with poetry, and my main interest was photography…I think a friend had suggested blogging as a way to connect with new people once I had to give up work. And I have found it is a community and I have met a few people in real life….so I guess it has worked for me

    • Dear Sue,
      our blog was Dina’s idea. Our dear Master did send around a digital info letter to his readers and people coming to his lectures and book signings for many years. It was a mixture of info about his new publication and dates and places of lectures etc. but it also included a longer article and book reviews. Dina found this a bit old fashioned. She introduced our Master to blogging. For several years we had two different blogs then. Dina had hers and Klausbernd his until we decided to combine our two blogs. Pit, a good friend of ours, warned us to combine a more literary and philosophical blog with a blog with its main emphasis on photography. Nevertheless, we like the challenge to combine both although it’s sometimes a challenge. We are both retired and so we need such challenges. As Siri says “it’s good for the brain” and so we blog brainy with pictures 😉
      Great to hear that blogging works for you. It works for us as well. It’s part of it that we have sometimes our doubts. We hope that this makes our blog more interesting (at least for us).

  5. Pictures and text don’t need to be related. There is always an urge to relate the two, and it is easy enough to write about a picture, but having a picture to go with text can be challenging. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But a well penned thought, story, paper can create an infinite number of pictures in the mind’s eye. When one person creates beautiful photos, and the other writes words of wisdom let them stand one after the other, juxtaposed for the the reader to be in awe of both.

      we absolutely agree with you that words can create thousands of pictures as pictures can express what thousands of words do.
      We find it an interesting challenge to combine pictures and words not in a direct way. The combination should open up the perceiver to something new, to a new dimension beyond the iconographic realm and this of the words. Especially the monks did that during the high middle ages. Some of their illuminations are quite surreal. We are fascinated by these illuminations. They kind of inspire us (Klausbernd studied them at St Gallen and Uppsala).
      Anyway, we want to combine text and picture in a subtle way beyond the obvious. Well, we are working on that.

Vor einigen Tagen z.B. wurde unser Gemüsegarten, Blumen, Sträucher und sogar die Blätter unseres riesigen Gingko Bilobabaums total von einem Hagelsturm zerfetzt. Ein weiterer Hagelsturm ist bereits angesagt und Fotos wird es genug geben um von dieser Sache zu berichten, aber interessiert das die Menschen?

    • I believe some of the illuminations in manuscripts were similar to gargoles in that the illuminators, like the sculptors, could be creative, working on the edges, literally and figuratively, exploring imagery of people and things that were humorous, scary, political, even a bit heretical, but not necessarily allowed to be written at the time. The edges of the Beaux Tapestry have good examples being on the edge on the edges.

      Concerning the damage, the hail storm did to your garden. You ask if that is interesting for others to read. We suppose it depends on how you will present it. In a way, it’s about presenting the general in the particular.

      you are right there was a written text and a kind of subtext in the illuminations. The subtext often showed another reality and, as you wrote, was pretty often heretic.
      The connection between text and illustration should open up the receiver to a new way of thinking – that’s beyond the message of the text and this of the picture. Of course, during the middle ages, it was different as a lot of people couldn’t read. This is how we try to combine pictures and text.

  6. I blog because I like to write and because I like to share. Sometimes I also have no inspiration, and then I let it rest for a while. It always comes back. Merging word and image is just a lot of fun to do. Your blog is beautiful. That bird’s head is gorgeous.
    Take it easy, and blog when the sense and inspiration is there. Sometimes it comes in waves, sometimes it doesn’t. It comes as it comes. With kind regards.

  8. For me, your blog provides thoughtful reflection on interesting topics, connecting dots I may not have even seen based on your wide-view of life, all enhanced with spectacular photos. I agree about so many ecology blogs. They are depressing and want to tell me how bad I am. Sigh.

  9. I started my blog for myself, as a kind of diary, but it’s changed in many ways. I share my photography and especially like writing about the historical places I visit with pictures to go with the texts. I follow and have found followers who are artists, photographers, film reviewers, writers, book reviewers, an archaeology professor and an eco warrior. They live in different places in the world and I enjoy immensely the conversations and banter they bring to my life. So that’s why I blog now.

      One charm of blogging is for us as well meeting different people we wouldn’t have met otherwise. As we don’t live any longer in an intellectual surrounding, we compensate with blogging. But we have a clear division of our diary – we write by hand and it contains ideas and feelings that are personal – and our blog. Blogging means publication for us which means we have to think about the receivers whereas our diaries are free from such considerations.
      Funnily enough, we just read (by accident) “I know nothing more noble than the contemplation of the world” (Flaubert). Well, this is our attitude towards blogging.

  10. Blog because you enjoy it. Share your love of nature through writing and photography. Your blog always does both so well. And then there is Siri and Selma’s great sense of humor with a touch of fairy dust. Pure magic. Many people blog because it relates to their profession. We blog because we like to. When the well runs dry, or the muse goes off and hides in the woods, or you have something else you want/need to do, take a break. Just let your fellow bloggers know. Don’t worry about numbers! That’s what I am doing now for a few months. –Curt

  12. Hello!

    I think your post is very thought-pprovoking and imparts an important message. Many bloggers could benefit from considering your message. And your photos today are very effective, facing right and then left. The details of the cap feather and eye are striking and compelling.

    I am a long-time follower but a very infrequent commenter. I am always drawn in to your posts by Dina’s wonderful photos but always read the entirety of your commentary. The recent Owl photos were sublime.

    I can only speak for myself about blogging. Historically there are periods lasting many weeks to even months when I posted nothing. Then I started an experiment back in May 2021 of posting once a week, with an eye to eventually winding down my blog. A couple of weeks ago I increased to twice a week and then this past week three or four posts as part of the experiment. What haven learned for myself?

    There are some bloggers who post 3, 4, 5, 6 times a day. Speaking very candidly now, seeing people post that frequently makes me sad for them – it seems as though they do not have a real life outside of WordPress. And blogging takes a lot of time and energy – at least for me it does.

    On photo challenges: if what I am in the mood to post happens to fit a challenge, I may link to the challenge as a way of encouraging or supporting the artists hosting that challenge. I never read a challenge and then go out in search of material to fit. Just my opinion, there are far too many challenges that feel “contrived.” Paula of Lost in Translation used to have one of the best totally free-form challenges called Thursdays Special. No rules no gimmicks just post what you choose. Sadly it is no more.

    On following the muse: YES that is the way to go. 100%. You are probably familiar with my favorite poem:

    sunlight bent. I felt the ceiling arch, and

    But not everybody follows their muse. They just crank ’em out. Not everybody even has a muse.

    So why do I still have a blog?  I’m represented by a couple of small local gallery spaces for some of my photos. The photos in the gallery are not on the blog, they are more artistic. Galleries expect their artists to have an online presence. I do not use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, or whatever other new and shiny social media platform is hot. So, I feel an obligation by the galleries to post every so often. Ultimately it may be just once a month.. or better yet, only when the muse insists. That would be preferable.

      thank you VERY much for your extensive comment that’s very much appreciated.
      We have so much else to do that we couldn’t blog more often than twice a month. Also, we need time to think about what to blog about and more so how to present it. As you write, blogging takes a lot of time and energy. We sometimes don’t feel to spend that time and energy on blogging and sometimes we love it.
      Thanks for William Stafford’s poem we didn’t know. We especially love the saying of the muse: “When you allow me to live with you, every glance at the world around you will be a sort of salvation.” We experience the muse as quite a liberal being. She comes and goes entirely to her liking.

Your post about the Falcon today and Dina’s spectacular action photos of that majestic Falcon are a perfect example of when and what and why and how to blog about something. The collective efforts of all the Fab Four of Cley – Siri and Selma and Dina and you – are exemplary. You don’t just crank out meaningless posts to make your presence known day-in-day-out and I thank you for the light you bring to our world. My best to all of you!

      We love it to present topics in our blog that interests us and so we research and talk and think about it and so it becomes a post. A background of the falcon post: our dear Master loves middle eval literature like the love songs from the 12th and 13th c. and the big poems like ‘Perceval’ and ‘Tristan and Yseut’. This is how Siri 🙂 and 🙂 Selma learn by helping us researching and editing text and pictures.

I once was so close to a Peregrine on his Falconer’s glove that my reflection in the Falcon’s eye is clearly visible in the photo, but I have never flown one, myself. What an experience that must be – the trust that must be established between Bird and Man… My eye surgery has had to be delayed for two months unfortunately because of a last-minute administrative mistake by the surgeon’s office assistant. Needless to say this delay has not brought great joy. Take care, be well!

      thanks for asking. Yes, we are all very well. Our dear Master just got his fifth Covid jab against all these new mutations yesterday. He feels okay, but a little tired.
      For us blogging is only fun if we keep up a certain standard. A lot of blogs posts are variations (or not even variations) of Wikipedia texts or Chat openai texts. As we are interested in our topic we are very happy about ‘real’ comments. But we only get them when our texts show a certain quality. It’s our experience that if your topic is well-researched you will get interesting comments.

  13. Ah where to begin dear friends! I blog because I enjoy creating stories through image and word, spread a little joy and connect with others through the blogosphere. I enjoy supporting challenge hosts and their topics can help me focus when there’s a lot of material to choose from. There are so many lovely fellow bloggers I’ve met through being active on the blog and during the pandemic there has been a strong sense of support and community here which will always be special to me. Life consists of so many magical moments that can be gone in the blink of an eye. My blog helps me capture some of those moments and share them so that others can enjoy them too 💜

      making contacts with others seems to be the most important reason for blogging. It’s important for us as well. For every topic, we blog about we think about how our visitors will receive it. We want to serve our visitors.
      As we have a clear distinction between our blog and our diaries we document our magical moments mostly in our private diaries. Blogging is for us for publication and means to reflect how your message will be received.

    Lieber Klausbernd,
    das geht mir runter wie Oel, wie man so sagt! 😀
    Ihr wisst ja, wie es zu meinem Blog gekommen ist, dass ich im Anfang naemlich meine Freunde, die ich in Deutschland zurueckgelassen habe, an meinem Leben hier teilhaben lassen wollte, und es mir ersparen wollte, jedem eine einzelne E-Mail zu schreiben. Spaeter hat sich dann herausgestellt, dass die Leute in Deutschland, an die meine Bloggerei zunaechst einmal adressiert war, meinem Blog gar nicht gefolgt sind, ich dafuer aber viele andere Leser – auch aus dem englischsprachigen Raum – bekommen habe, und ich daher zu einem zweisprachigen Blog uebergegangen bin, und zu zwei Blogs: einem vornehmlich als Text-plus-Bild-Blog ueber mein Leben und meine Erlebnisse hier, und einem fast ausschliesslich billdbezogenen.
    Das Berichten ueber mein Leben hier nimmt allerdings, besonders wenn es um Reisen geht, eine ganze Menge Zeit in Anspruch – zu viel Zeit eigentlich. Aber was soll ich machen? Weniger Reisen??!! Dann lieber mit den Berichten in Verzug geraten.
    iEne haeufige Teilnahme an Challenges und Projekten habe ich so gut wie aufgegeben, weil sie wirklich zu viel Zeit kosten. Da beschraenke ich mich auf die wenigen, zu denen ich meine, etwas zu sagen/zeigen zu haben.
    An zwei eigene Projekte, die zu meinen beiden Blogs passen wuerden, habe ich in der letzten Zeit allerdings gedacht, und die werde ich auch verfolgen. Zum Einen sind es Bilder von Rathaeusern hier, im Wesentlichen “Texas Courthouses” [aber auch von anderswo], z.B. hier [https://wp.me/p107Dr-1FP], und zum Anderen ist es eine Serie ueber “Texas Forts”.
    Auf Followers und Likes schiele ich natuerlich immer mal wieder, und ich freue mich, wenn meine Blogs Anklang finden, aber es macht mir auch nichts, wenn die Zahl gering ist. Ich habe im Uebrigen den Eindruck, dass in der letzten Zeit die Likes haeufig von Bots kommen, wenn naemlich ganz ploetzlich zu einer Menge meiner eigenen Artikel [und auch zu meinen Kommentaren auf anderen Blogs, z.B. auf Eurem] jede Menge Likes von ein und demselben Absender erscheinen. Auch bei vielen meiner neuen Follower habe ich den Eindruck, dass es da in erster Linie um die Promotion des jeweils eigenen – oft geschaeftlichen – Blogs geht. Es sind nur selten Blogs, an denen ich wirklich interessiert bin.
    Euch wuensche ich weiterhin viel Freude an Eurem absolut fantastischen eigenen Blog sowie bei Garten- und sonstiger Arbeit. Hier muss es jetzt auch sehr bald wieder in den Garten gehen. Da wir waehrend unserer Abwesenheit nicht zu heisses Wetter mit – in den letzten Tagen – auch Regen hatten, waechst der Rasen wie wild. Und auch sonst steht noch viel Gartenarbeit an, mit Pflanzen von Stareuchern und Baeumen z.B.
    Also dann:

      first of all, thank you so much for your postcard of Bucket of Blood Saloon. That’s like real Wild West. So kind of you, this postcard. Dina kommt gerade vom Rasenmähen herein und sagt “vielen Dank für die schöne Karte”.
      We have to admit that we watch the number of likes and more so these of comments. Das rechtfertigt besonders Masterchen, der nämlich eine Statistik über Likes und Comments führt. Er rechtfertigt es damit, dass es zeigt, ob die Posts auch das Interesse unserer Besucher treffen. Natürlich bloggen wir auch bisweilen über etwas, einzig weil es uns interessiert und wir mehr Klarheit darüber bekommen wollen.
      Wir können uns vorstellen, wie viel Zeit dein Bloggen über das Reisen benötigt. Aber musst du denn über alles bloggen?
      Dein Bloggen über Courthouses und Forts finden wir immer wieder interessant. Ist es nicht erstaunlich, mit welch unterschiedlicher Architektur sich der Staat in Europa und den USA darstellt?
      Seit einiger Zeit gibt es bei uns das Phänomen, dass Followers nur schauen, ob man sie besucht. Falls nicht, wird man ein paar Tage später wieder ent-followed.
      Sehr viel Zeit beim Bloggen verbringen wir auch mit dem Besuch anderer Blogger. Da haben wir einmal die treue Gruppe unserer Freunde, die wir gerne besuchen, und zum anderen Blogs, wie du es schreibst, die uns nicht nur nicht interessieren, sondern die wir auch erschreckend hingeschlurt, einfallslos und uninteressant finden.
      Bei uns wächst auch gerade alles wie wild, leider auch das Unkraut. So arbeiteten wir heute mit emsiger Hilfe von Siri 🙂 und 🙂 Selma im Garten. Wenn der Rasen gemäht, die Kanten und die Hecken geschnitten sind, sieht alles so gleich wieder anmutig aus.
      Dann habt es fein, macht es euch gemütlich.

    • Lieber Klausbernd,
      gern geschehen, was die Postkarte angeht. Was ich von Virginia und dem “Wilden Westen” da gar nicht wusste: der Reichtum hat auch zu einem ziemlich hohen kulturellen Niveau geführt, mit Opernhaus und Theater, und einem villa-ähnlichen vierstöckigen Schulgebäude, dass damals bis zu 1.000 Schüler hatte – um nur zwei Dinge herauszugreifen.
      Die Zahlen meine Likes und Comments sehe ich mir zwar immer wieder an und lege auch einen gewissen Wert darauf, aber keinen zu großen.
      Du fragst, ob ich denn über Alles bloggen muss. Das tue ich doch gar nicht. Wenn Du wüsstest, was da noch alles ansteht an Ideen. Ich möchte ja meinen Lesern, vor Allem außerhalb der USA, dieses Land näher bringen. Da reichen die Themen dann von Reiseberichten bis zu den seltsamen und teils verwirrenden Maßeinheiten hier. Aber ich lasse es wohl doch einmal langsam angehen.

    • Verstehe, lieber Pit, du bist sozusagen der Botschafter von Texas 😉
      Wir haben heute Action, fahren wohl den ganzen Tag über Land u.a. Fotos abholen, die in einer Ausstellung in Holt, unserer nahen Marktstadt, zum Helt Festival ausgestellt werden. Da sind auch 4 Fotos von Hanne-Dina dabei.

    • Ich sehe das sogar noch etwas weiter, lieber Klausbernd: ich moechte meinen nicht-amerikanischen Lesern die gesamte USA etwas naeher bringen, die Schoenheiten, aber auch Negatives, wie jetzt z.B. die mangelhafte und teure Krankenversorgung. Nur die Politik will ich dabei aussparen.

  17. I blog for just one reason and that’s because I want to share my photos. I want others to see what I saw and hopefully they will enjoy the photos too. It’s hard to explain but it is similar to when I was in the Army in the late 60s early 70s.

    I was stationed in San Francisco, California and later in Monterey, California. I would some some very beautiful sites and interesting people and their activities (e.g. hippies, wanna be hippies, and various free spirit types).

    I always thought it would be so much more enjoyable if I could share these thing with my girl friend back in Missouri. For some reason I felt that the sharing would make it more enjoyable for me too.

    Do what is best for you, but please keep sharing. I enjoy your prose and photos equally.

      sharing is the soul of blogging, isn’t it?
      We can well understand that it’s fun photographing all these hippies, wanna be hippies and free spirits. Do you know, our dear Master was one of them living for quite a while in a farm commune in Vermont and later hitchhiked through the States visiting other farm communes. Afterwards, he wrote a book about it which was the beginning of his career as an author.

  18. Well I enjoy your mix of brilliant photography, thought-provoking posts and humour. I enjoy reading your posts no matter how infrequent they may be. My blogs (yes I have three) were originally created for myself – well the flower blog and travel blog were – so I could record trips I had made and photos I enjoy. It is a nice feeling that others also enjoy the posts and I love the community spirit that is formed through the conversations, in fact I’d say that sometimes those conversations are more interesting and important than the actual post, but in the main they are still predominantly for me so I don’t feel obliged to post all the time. I no longer have a job so my interests are gardening and photography and blogging is just another joyful hobby.

      thank you very much for praising our blog.
      Well, we blog not that often because we need time to think about our topics and how to present them. For us, the conversations, these comments, are very important too as we learn from them. Sometimes it’s quite a challenge to answer them but we love it.
      On the other hand, we have quite some other hobbies too, there is gardening, collecting books and running a bookstall for our community, and especially Dina does a lot of voluntary work for the National Trust. She is out photographing wildlife nearly every day. Our dear Master needs his dose of reading every day (for not becoming grumpy).
      Anyway, we’ll go one blogging.

    • There is certainly more to life than being behind a screen, which is why I am also slow catching up during the summer and when the sun is shining as I like to be out or in the garden. But it is a good platform for sharing photos and having a conversation with friends. I also agree about reading every day, though I do most of mine before going to sleep.       we are good-weather-gardeners and that means we read when the weather is not inviting us to go outside or when we have worked enough physically. We have a problem with reading before sleeping that we are in danger to fall asleep while reading. We automatically turn the pages but our mind is already sleeping.
      We enjoy the sharing of our pictures and ideas as well. It’s lovely being integrated into a group.

  19. I started my blog as a way of showing my nature photographs and also promoting the native plants in central Texas. Last year, as the moral decline of the United States accelerated, I began adding relevant quotations to the ends of some posts. Then, as the moral decline increasingly turned into censorship, authoritarianism, and a large-scale rejection of objectivity in favor of “woke” dogma, I’ve been speaking out in my own voice against those harmful trends. As Luther is supposed to have said: “Hier stehe ich. Ich kann nicht anders. Gott helfe mir.”

    Ich würde gerne wieder meine gesamten produzierten Werke Bloggen, leider frisst der Blog zuviel Zeit, die ich gerade anders priorisieren.
    Meine Dissertation benötigt viel Zeit, die ich beim Bloggen spare.

    Ich lese und schaue euren Blog gerne. Ich denke es ist wichtig, dass ihr ihn lustvoll und nicht aus Pflicht schreibt. Ich freue mich immer, wenn eine Mail eintrudelt, dass ihr einen neuen Blogbeitrag, geschrieben habt. Einfach auch, um zu lesen, wie es euch geht und was ihr macht.

      das finden wir ganz toll, dass du unseren Blog gerne liests. Vielen Dank!
      Du hast recht, das Bloggen benötigt viel Zeit, wenn man es gut machen möchte – und nur dann macht es Sinn. Zur Zeit benötigen bei uns Garten und Bücher (tausende), die wir gspendet bekommen, unsere hauptsächliche Aufmerksamkeit, so dass das Bloggen einfach in den Hintergrund treten muss.
      Bei uns begann auch das Bloggen mit den Hinblick auf die Promotion von Masterchens Büchern. Allerdings wurde dies im Laufe der Zeit immer unwesentlicher und spielt heute nur noch extrem selten eine Rolle. Heute bloggen wir im Grunde aus Erkenntnisinteresse und um mit Freunden Kontakt zu halten. Wir zogen ja so viel von Kontinent zu Kontinent, dass unsere Freunde in aller Welt wohnen und durch das Bloggen kamen noch viele hinzu.
      Wir besuchen auch deinen Blog sehr gerne und bewundern deine Zeichnungen. Wie Masterchen schon schrieb, dein Blog ist ein zeitgemäßes Kunstwerk.

      Gerne würde ich mehr über eure Tätigkeit als Bücherarchivare erfahren. Wer spendet Bücher? Nach welchen Kriterien sortiert ihr die Bücher? Wo entsteht die Bibliothek der gespendeten Bücher? Was passiert mit den Büchern, die ihr aussortiert? Über einen (mehrere) Artikel würde ich mich freuen! Natürlich reich mit Hannes Bildern versehen!
      Gerne würde ich mehr über eure Kirche und die einzelnen Grabmäler erfahren. Ich weiß noch als wir euch besuchten wurde gerade geheiratet!
      Die Geschichte von Cley würde mich auch interessieren.
      Sicher habt ihr über das eine oder andere schon gebloggt, vielleicht würde es helfen, wenn ihr thematisch auch auf euren eigenen Blog bei neuen Artikeln verlinkt.

      über die Bücher werden wir in unserem nächsten Blogpost berichten. Dina fotografierte schon die Bücherstapel, die Siri 🙂 mit Masterchen sortierten.
      Wir bekamen u.a. auch einige seltene Bücher über ‘local history’, von denen wir viel über die Geschichte unseres Dorfes Cley next the Sea erfuhren. Es war einst im Mittelalter ein wichtiger Hafen und eine reiche Handelsstadt, mit der Pest, einer Feuersbrunst und der Versandung des Hafens, die immer noch anhält, wurde Cley eher unbedeutend. Im 20. Jh. wurde es dann erst von Schriftstellern und später von Cambridge Dons entdeckt. Es ist heute ein internationales Zentrum des Birdwatching. Beim Friedhof liebten es Siri 🙂 und 🙂 Selma den ältesten Grabstein zu finden. Es gibt einige aus dem 17. Jh. und viele aus dem 18. Über die Kirche werden wir auch demnächst bloggen. Sie stand übrigens direkt am Meer im MA. Daran kannst du sehen, wie die Versandung hier fortschreitet. Der Zusatz ‘next the Sea’ wird bald wegfallen, da immer mehr Sand hier angeschwemmt wird und die Küste immer ferner rückt. ‘Next the Sea’ bedeutet, dass die offene See unter eine Meile vom Ort entfernt ist.
      Also lasse dich überraschen, was wir demnächst über unsere Bücheraktion und die Cley Church berichten.

      Berlin und die Kunst haben mich nach dem Urlaub in den Bergen und am See schon wieder. Heute habe ich neben der Krankengymnastik zwei Termine: Ich gehe zur Buchhandlung, wo der neue Kalender aus dem Utz Benkel Verlag präsentier wird und bringe für Werbezwecke schon mal meine gerahmte Sylvia Plath vorbei und danach steige ich in die U-Bahn und fahre zum Fontane Haus in die Graphothek Berlin, um dort zu unterrichten. Vielleicht schaffe ich es zwischendurch auch noch 2 bis 3 Zeichnungen für die Ausstellung in Schwerin zu rahmen…..
      Ja, der Künstlerinnen Alltag hat wieder begonnen 🙂

      ich habe angenehmer Weise heute nichts vor. Vielleicht vertiefe ich mich gemütlich im Sessel in I. Kant, da ich ja demnächst mit einem Berliner Freund ein Podcast zur Objektivität machen werde, wozu der große Philosoph einiges geschrieben hat. Heute Abend kommt ein Freund von mir, für den ich koche, während Hanne-Dina ein Treffen mit denen hat, die mit ihr die Foto-Ausstellung zum Holt Festival organisierten.

      Ich krieche gerade sehr tief in Albertis Schriften, dabei will ich ergründen, wie er das einzelne Kunstwerk und das Gesamtwerk eines Künstlers definiert. Dazu schaue ich mir die lateinischen Originale an. Sehr interessant, mein Forschergeist ist geweckt.
      Nebenbei 😉 will ich den Tag geniessen und ein wenig im Garten puddeln.

Kommenden Montag haben wir unsere Vorbesprechung dazu und danach werden wir wohl schnell unser Gespräch aufnehmen. Wir mussten zunächst technisch die 3 Wege Kommunikation hinbekommen. Zoom ist nicht klar genug, FaceTime ist nicht geeignet und so haben wir uns jetzt für Skype entschieden.

      Ich bewundere, dass ihr die Energie habt, immer wieder nach neuen Möglichkeiten zu suchen. Im Moment bin ich es fasst leid, immer wieder die Programme, die ich nutze upzudaten und neu zu lernen und alles zu ändern.
      Es ist so schnelllebig, dass die Entwicklung nicht hinter her kommt und sich überall Fehler einschleichen.

      wir kamen gerade nach Hause von einem tollen Ausflug nach Cromer, naja Ausflug mit Fotosession. In Cromer ist vorgestern eine Banksy-Kunstwerk an einer Mauer am Strand erschienen. Aber darüber werden wir wohl in unserer nächsten Post berichten und über alle Banksy-Murals an unserer Küste. Außerdem musste Masterchen als Fotomodell agieren.
      Das Wetter ist ja wunderschön. Jetzt genießen wir einen leckeren Drink und lassen es uns gut gehen. Ganz schön warm, aber zum Glück mit einer Seebriese.

Started many years ago just by registering my blog platform to be able to keep track of the various interesting bloggers I read and watched with great pleasure – then it started to develop, with no real agenda. So I started posting myself, still always getting happy when someone bothers to “look in through the window”.
    We haven’t owned a television for many years because we think it would be a “small cuckoo in our nest, almost like a nanny” – seek out for our satisfaction of our great curiosity about thousands of things (WP bloggers are amazing and amazingly different ). So it’s primarily for me an expansion of my horizon. 🙂

    Your blog is unique and should remain as such. Every one of your followers has their own personal perspective of your photo images and/or text content. The comments are as personalized as their personalities and I’ll bet that many others envy that touch you have to reach out to all, educated > child alike,
    Such as that eye, ever watchful from your avian friend. He appears to me to be ‘sizing us up’ and waiting to see what we’ll write. So, my answer….
    I blog to have my father’s writing read, his scrapbook and story preserved before I go.

      We regularly think about stop blogging or change our blog but in the end, we are going on blogging happily in our old ways. As Kethuprofumo (two comments down) writes, we are happy writing an eco-fairy-tale-blog (an EFTB 😉 )
      We use lots of sun protection and avoid the sun as much as we can. We hope you don’t have it that hot as it is on the west coast.

      we love being an eco-fairy-tale-blog EFTB, that’s great! Thanks for giving us this idea.
      Here we have very pleasant temperatures +23 C degrees and sunny but interrupted by little showers. That’s perfect for the garden.
      Our beloved little fayries getting lots of ice cream every night, chocolate and strawberry. They love it. Whereas our dear Master gets lemon sorbet with vodka, which he loves very much.

      Our garden looks great now just before hot weather will hit us which is forecasted for the weekend. Well, for us that means about 25 degrees C and very dry. That’s the right weather to enjoy the garden without working in it.

  25. I blog for the enjoyment it brings me. I have no philosophical, religious, or political agenda. I do have subjects laid out for the week and then fit my ideas or other’s prompts to those subjects. I enjoy the randomness of the subjects that you cover. If you are running out of ideas, I suggest getting a book, opening it randomly, closing your eyes, and laying your finger on a page. I would write about the word underneath or near your finger. I do this at times, and it is fun.

      We are very happy that you like the randomness of the subjects we cover. We quite often think that’s a disadvantage and we should concentrate on one subject we will be associated with. But that’s not us, we are interested in a lot, some would say in too many, things. Now we are very busy organising a book fair for our community. We got so many books donated that we already filled two sheds. Sorting out these books is quite a job, Siri 🙂 and our Master like to do whereas Dina with Selma 🙂 are out photographing wildlife most of the time.

Das Moralische mit dem erhobenen Zeigefinger, dagegen laufen schon im Anatz Siri 🙂 und 🙂 Selma mit aller Feenlist Sturm.     • Well, learning German … Dina and Massterchen speak German together as Dina worked in Germany for 30 years. But she is Norwegian. Our Master studied Germanistik and taught it. So he is the one to learn it from. We Bookfayries Siri 🙂 and 🙂 Selma speak Fairish. That’s great because nobody understands us – except the other fairies like our friends, die Gartenfeen.
      We usually write in German first and then we all four kind of translate the text together – big discussions always.

    • Well, Google translator is rubbish. We have a German friend living in Texas who uses Google translator. He corrects then the text Google translator produces. We experienced that’s more work than just translate without a programme. By the way, there exist much better translating programmes than the Google translator.

  31. Wieso ich blogge?
    Da gibt es mehrere Gründe.

    1) Bei Texten ist es gut, zu wissen, daß man (womöglich) gelesen wird. Es schärft das Schreiben.

    2) Bei Fotos, speziell bei meiner Makrofotografie: Man möchte seine Ergebnisse zeigen. Es macht wenig Sinn, die megabites anzuhäufen ohne dass sie “sichtbar” werden.

    3) Das Zeigenkönnen befüördert die eigene Kreativität. Man findet für sich immer wieder neue Themen. Das ist ein wichtiger Punkt: Das Blogen ist ein Katalysator.

    4) Ein Stück weit ist Bloggen Sucht. Denn der Zeitaufwand ist enorm.

    5) Keramik stelle ich nicht aus. Ausstellungen mag ich nicht. Zu mühsam. Manchmal zu frustrierend. Aber sie im Netz zeigen, das ist akzeptabel.

    6) Einige wenige schauen sich meine Arbeiten an. Und an ihren Comments merkt man, daß sie sich damit beschäftigt hatten. Ab und an ist das Veröffentlicen Fristrierend. Entweder interessiert niemand, was man länglich vorbereitet hat oder man wird nicht verstanden.
    Das Nichtverstandenwerden passiert aber auch im realen Leben. Das Nicht-Zuhören.
    Vielleicht lernt man so Toleranz.
    7) Ich habe schon oft ans Ende des Bloggens gedacht, weil wie gesagt der Aufwand sehr groß ist. Und weil ab und an Frustrationen passieren. Meine Frau mag im Grunde mein Bloggen nicht. Es nimmt ihr Aufmerksamkeit weg.

      Bei Punkt 1 stimmt dir Masterchen als Schreiberling völlig zu. Wenn man etwas veröffentlicht, schreibt man es mit viel größerer Sorgfalt und mehr durchdacht, als wenn man es nur für sich notieren würde. Und das Bloggen ein Katalysator ist, das können wir auch unterschreiben. Bei uns ist es allerdings weniger süchtig machend, wir sind immer wieder eher Haderne. Die Abstände zwischen den Post werden zunehmend größer und früher betrieben wir sogar zwei Blogs, was völlig verrückt war.

    • Mir fiel auf, daß ihr Euch etwas zurückgenommen habt. Zumindest hatte ich subjektiv diesen Eindruck.

      Was die Sucht betrifft: da bin ich prädesteniert, ich war auch als Läufer einst süchtig. Oder als Schachspieler. Und jetzt als Insektenfotograf. In allem konnte ich nur schwer Maß halten.

      Andere Blogger bieten oder boten Innenschauen an wie etwa Emil. Da komme ich auch her, was Bloglesen betrifft. Diese Art zu Bloggen habe ich dann aber nur in einer Handvoll Artikel selbst betrieben.

    • Lieber Gerhard,
      das finde ich eine sehr hilfreiche Rückmeldung, dass du das Gefühl hast, wir haben uns zurückgenommen. Im gewissen Sinne sind wir professioneller geworden. Dabei ist ein wenig der Charme unseres naiven Bloggens in Text und Bild abhanden gekommen. Wenn ich alte Blogs von uns betrachte, muss ich schmunzeln. Das war sehr lieb, wie wir Fotos und spontane Texte miteinander verbunden haben. Jetzt ist alles perfekter, aber das ist nicht weniger wir. Wir sind ja Dina und ich und dann unsere beiden Buchfeen. Dina ist die ewig Strebende, die die Perfektion liebt. Diese Perfektion hat unserem Blog auch gut getan, aber der Charme des eher naiv Leichten hat darunter gelitten und damit hat auch unser Spaß am Bloggen einen Dämpfer bekommen. Auf der anderen Seite liebe ich auch die zunehmende Perfektion unseres Blogs, wobei es nicht so klar ist, wo wir eigentlich hinwollen. Ein Ziel ist, dass wir es hinbekommen, dass aus Dinas Perfektion und meiner eher lässige Haltung eine Synthese sich ergibt oder gefunden wird, die eine neue Qualität bildet. We will see …
      Solche Rückmeldung hilft uns sehr, vielen Dank. Weißt du, von außen sieht man oft die Situationen bzw. die Dinge besser als wenn man darin steht.
      Innenschau wie beim Emil scheint mir nicht unser Weg, obwohl ich viel vom psychoanalytischen Blick der frei schwebenden Aufmerksamkeit halte.
      Anyway, uns tut dieses Innenhalten, die Reflektion was war und was ist, sehr gut und Pausen vom Bloggen ebenso, da sich alles sonst in der ewigen Wiederkehr des Gleichen erschöpft.

    • Das Leichte ist Dir eigen, so meine ich. Gerade jetzt in diesem Kommentar auch.

      Was Dina mit ihrer Perfektion anstrebt, findet abgeschwächt auch bei mir statt. Das Bestimmen der Insekten, auch ein Nachforschen über ihre Lebeweise und das Aufsuchen neuer Habitate, um andersartige Insekten kennenzulernen, all das ist nahe am Perfekten, aber noch immer deutlich steigerbar.
      Ich weiß, dass jedes Quentchen mehr an Perfektion einen umso grösseren Aufwand bedingt. Irgendwann mancht das keinen Sinn mehr. Exponentialkurve.

      Mövchte wieder zurück zu mehr Vielseitigkeit.

      Jetzt ist Politikschauen angesagt, mal schaun, was es wieder Neues gibt!

    • Ja, so sehr ich die Perfektion bewundere, sehe ich deutlich, dass es auch eine Falle ist. Übrigens sah diese Spezialisierung, die sich in der Arbeitsteilung widerspiegelt, Karl Marx als Grundlage der Entfremdung an. Da wir hier im “Mecca of Birdwatching” wohnen, gibt es hier viele hochspezialisierte Birdwatcher, bei denen, wie Siri 🙂 und ich es finden, die Spezialisierung in Dummheit umschlägt.
      Was du beschreibst, trifft bestens auch für Dina und ihr Helferlein Selma 🙂 zu.

  33. I’d say that no matter how often or little you post, you have a large group of followers who enjoy whatever you post in whatever combination of photos and words so just enjoy it when you feel like posting.

    I start my blog because our younger daughter and my husband encouraged me to do so. I started out mostly writing but have transitioned more into photography with writing/words when appropriate or when I’m so moved. 🙂 I enjoy the camaraderie of those who follow me (and chat) and those I follow. I’ve enjoyed meeting some bloggers in real life, a bonus. I used to blog daily but now I take off when I’m on vacation. I do participate in challenges that I enjoy and I also do posts just for myself. It’s quite simply fun. 🙂

  34. I always enjoy your blog posts. Photos are lovely and words are entertaining and informative. Why do I blog? I blog because I love horses and like to introduce them to people who may not know about them. Also I blog about my journey to be a better dressage rider. I am quite old for the level i ride at and I hope that blogging honestly about what I am doing and struggling with will encourage others to hang in there and keep going with their riding. I have more recently started to post about the birds who visit us and now in the summer about the flowers in our garden . I am learning a lot about photography.I took a course on Equine photography and learned a lot . I also have read a lot of tips from Cee Neuner on photographing flowers and now I am getting better at it.

  35. I enjoy your posts and wouldn’t seek to change anything about them. And somehow, you always suggest something that takes me back to a forgotten place. For example, I now remember that in September 2013 I wrote a post about just this very subject. Then I was in a very different place than I am now. I had been bullied out of a corporate job after finishing the hard work of relocating the department, had gone on a three month European tour with friends as part of focusing my mind elsewhere, started the blog as a daily record of those travels, and then turned my attention to writing a memoir when I returned home, rather than beating my head against a wall trying to get another nasty corporate job. And guess what? The book was published (Orion UK Dec 2015), and my terrible work experience, although not completely forgotten, might be fodder for another book someday. Perhaps blogging had a role in that transition.   37. You certainly have a point with this post about the reason for blogging. For me blogging is all about sharing, and by sharing, we also learning from eachother. My blog is a photography blog, as taking pictures is my hobby. I combine this with my love for nature. In most of my blog-posts I try to share the beauty of nature in it’s smallest details via macro or detail photography. As a lot of people don’t take the time to look at details during their walk, I help them to focus their attention to it. The beauty offered by nature is totaly free for everyone !   38. I think every human is a unique individual. That makes us Alone and AllOne at the same time. And then it makes sense to connect with other people and see how they get along.. and show them who I am.. Thus I think that it doesn’t really matter what you blog as long as it comes from the heart. My passion is photography so, I show myself in photo’s and that connects me with people who somehow are on that wavelength. No problem with that; you can’t connect with everyone.. I chose for blogging because it goes a little further than just the surface of FB. It brought me connections that are friendships to me.

    • Indeed, blogging is sharing and this means connecting. We find it interesting to connect with people who are not on our wavelength. It’s funny, we meet people of our wavelength in our everyday life, in real. Blogging gives us the chance to correct our ideas and perception.       Das Tierchen auf dem Foto … Wir, Siri 🙂 und Masterchen, wissen nur, dass es ein Vogel ist. Aber wir sind blutige Anfänger mit der Bestimmung der Vögel. Das können dir aber Dinalein und Selmachen 🙂 beantworten. Die sind richtig gute Birdwatcher geworden – bis auf ein paar Ausrutscher, aber über die schweigen wir.

    • Die “Stille” in eurem Vogelschutzgebiet ist amazing…übrigens…wir tanzen im September in einem kleinen Theater, Thema: Dancing your Dreams – Tanz frag ment e.
      Die jungen und junggebliebenen Damen beschäftigen sich seit einer Weile mit ihren Tag- und Nachtträumen, ich helfe ihnen, die Symbolik zu verstehen(oder auch nicht..) und kleine Choreografien zu gestalten, macht richtig Spaß! Die Traumdeutungsbücher von KB Vollmar sind da eine extrem nützliche Investition gewesen…
      Ich frage bei meiner Sinnfrage nicht nach dem Sinn des Lebens, sondern nach dem Sinn meines Tuns in der Lebenszeit, das macht für mich in all dem Irrsinn, den ich gefühlt und rein subjektiv gerade erlebe, für mich am meisten Sinn…
      Vielleicht bin ich auch bald Krypto-Millionärin, nein, nicht wirklich, ich gehe aber mit dem Fortschritt, vielleicht mache ich auch nur noch Baum-Yoga-Retreats und lebe von Wildkräutern oder Lichtnahrung in Wald-Michelbach, keine Ahnung!!! Vielleicht werde ich auch Chefchoreografin bei Tui oder ich ziehe zu Janosch nach Teneriffa…oder Schlossbesitzerin in Südfrankreich…oder oder oder

      Regine wohnte kurz in meinem Haus, sie passte auf die Katze auf, als ich zu meiner Tochter nach Rhodos flog, laaaange Geschichte. Regine und ich hatten lange Gespräche, bevor ich flog. Es stellte sich heraus, dass sie vor vielen Jahren mit der Tochter meiner ersten Ballettlehrerin zusammen arbeitete und vieles mehr, was uns Dauergänsehaut verschaffte…
      Am Lustigsten war, dass A.L:W. mal zufällig Regine in einem Pub in London kennenlernte, sie unterhielten sich lange und Regine wurde zu ihm nach Hause eingeladen. Es war die Zeit, als “Jesus Christ Superstar” gerade in London herauskam…
      Für mich macht diese Geschichte echt Sinn! Ich lasse viel die Musik weg in letzter Zeit und lausche lieber der Stille, voll gut!!! Kann euch super gut verstehen!!!
      Jesus Christ Superstar, das Musical, sah ich mit 14 Jahren im Haus der Jugend, habe ich damals schon nicht ganz verstanden…hatte aber irgendwie Eindruck auf mich gemacht…

  40. Eure Einstellung zum bloggen ist genau richtig und ähnlich wie auch bei mir. Bloggen soll in erster Linie Freude beim Blogger sowie auch den Besuchern machen und auch beiderseits interessant sein, denke ich.
    Bei mir ist immer nur zu sehen sowie zu lesen wonach es mir gerade ist… Ganz ohne Stress oder irgend einen Druck von außen, manchmal auch inspiriert durch von mir besuchte Blogs. 😊

      du sprichst etwas Wichtiges an, nämlich dass andere Blogs uns inspirieren. Wir würden das sogar noch erweitern, andere Blogs und Kommentare.
      Irgendwie hat das Bloggen über dieses Thema uns sehr geholfen, ganz ohne Stress und schlechtem Gewissen zu bloggen.

  41. The how and why is still a mystery to me to this day. And yet, I have an irresistible urge to express myself via my page.

    In the past, I used to have several personal websites where my goal was to ‘improve the world’ or, to put it another way, to encourage people to eat differently. Healthier, less lavish, zero waste situations. I have completely put a stop to that. It was pointless and time-consuming.

    Actually, I can put myself in 1 category. I always need a challenge, something where the bar is always high. Once the level is reached, I look for other interesting tryouts. If they don’t offer themselves, then it will be quiet for a while from my side.

    Personally, I have always had a variety of interests, someone with a lot of insight and an ambition to do everything myself.

    Your blog is admirably interesting because it raises many points that are touching.

      We are not free of pedagogical intentions although we don’t like these pedagogical attitudes as you do.
      As we are four, we have a lot of different interests like books, gardening and nature, philosophy and everything that has to do with the North etc. That makes our blog quite open to a variety of topics.
      As you do, we love the challenges of blogging. We live quite an easy life, some would call it boring, and we would become boring as well without the challenges of blogging.

    Slowly evolving, ETH was nothing in the beginning, that was ok with me.
    But it evolved.
    It is like a second nature to me now.

  47. After more than 12 years of posting wingedbeauty.com, I advised our followers that as of May 1, 2021 we would no longer be adding new posts. Those many years were good to me (us) in innumerable ways. I loved seeking, stalking and shooting butterflies, here in the USA, in Canada and in Israel. Few have seen what I’ve seen, those Magnificent Jewelry Auctions at Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Doyle auction galleries in New York, New York. Few have seen such rings, earrings, broaches, bracelets and pins as I have. Even fewer (I believe) have seen such, and gone on to see hundreds thousands of butterflies, up close. Having had that Epiphany, I sought to suggest to others, that despite the skills of the finest jewelry workshops around the world, None had created work more beautiful or more intricate than G-d’s own butterflies, when seen fresh and new. Me, a retired high school Biology teacher, it is now clear that I was not finished when I retired. I continued to want to open the minds, the thinking, so more and more of us would revere and appreciate ‘natural’ beauty, and make an effort to sustain and conserve it, right there where they (we) live. The World According To Dina? I have always enjoyed your work, and several of your images remain well mounted, so to speak, in my memory Bank.

      thank you very much. It’s always a question of what to do when being retired. And as you did I continued what I did before just on another level. Before I wrote books and scripts, mostly longer texts, and taught at different universities and then I blogged writing short texts, article-like. It’s the great advantage of blogging that you don’t have to travel worldwide for lectures, talk shows and book signings.
      Great that you always enjoyed our blog and that we could feed your memory bank.

  48. Deine Frage treibt gerade viele Blogger und Bloggerinnen um. Oft ist von einem Sommerloch die Rede, von Blockaden und der auch von dir gestellten Frage nach dem Warum. Ich kann das nur für mich beantworten. Mit Bloggen hatte ich nichts am Hut, wusste nicht einmal, was das sein soll. Bis mein Sohn mir ein Blog „schenkte“, will sagen, es so einrichtete, dass ich einfach anfangen konnte. Er dachte, ich würde gerne meine Patchwokprojekte vorstellen, Menschen finden, die ebenfalls dieses Hobby pflegen und mich austauschen können. Das hatte ich allerdings bereits in den einschlägigen Foren gemacht. Im Laufe der Jahre postete ich einen Mischmasch verschiedenster Themen. Natürlich freute und freue ich mich über jeden Kommentar und merkte schnell, wie schnell sich die Besucherzahlen reduzierten, wenn ich länger nichts schrieb. Aber es gibt eben diese Zeiten, in denen es entweder nichts zu berichten gibt, oder ich schlicht und einfach keine Lust dazu habe. Wobei ich weiterhin die wenigen Blogs besuche, die ich abonniert habe. Allerdings habe ich mich recht schnell von dem Gedanken befreit, die Blogs derer, die ein like hinterlassen, aus Gefälligkeit auch zu besuchen. Das würde irgendwann in Arbeit ausarten und den Spaß, der dieses Bloggen doch bereiten sollte, verderben.

      bei uns war es Dina, die uns einen Blog schenkte, genau wie es dein Sohn mit dir tat. Irgendwie war Bloggen für uns davor etwas, von dem wir nur vage wussten, was es war. Wir begannen einfach naiv zu bloggen und mit der Zeit sammelten wir mehr Erfahrungen, unser Blog wurde ‘professioneller’, und wir waren auf einmal mitten in dieser Blogger-Szene. Wir befreundeten uns dort mit einigen, manche besuchten uns und wir sie. So wurde das Bloggen ein nicht unwesentlicher Teil unseres Lebens. Aber wir nehmen uns auch heraus, mal nicht bloggen, wenn wir keine Lust haben. Das tun wir besonders nach diesem Post ohne schlechtes Gewissen.

    gern antworte ich auf eure Frage, passend zu meinem heutigen Blogpost, in dem ich berichte, wie ich vor einem Jahr wie die Jungfrau zum Kind zum Bloggen kam und was mich antreibt. Ich hatte keinen Plan, aber eine vage Idee. Anderen vom Anderen zu erzählen. Wenn man im Ausland lebt, und ich komme ursprünglich noch dazu aus einem Land, das es nicht mehr gibt, ergeben sich viele spannende Situationen. Persönliches vor historischem Zeitgeschehen, kulturelle Aspekte, das Lebensgefühl. Vermitteln? Vermutlich zu hoch gegriffen. Aber mit meinen Geschichten anregen, unterhalten, sensibilisieren, das schon. Tanti saluti, best wishes from Italy! Anke

    • Liebe Anke,
      wir leben alle auch im Ausland und lebten bereits seit unserer Jugend in vielen Ländern und auf mehreren Kontinenten. Nun leben wir alle fröhlich und vergnügt in einem idyllischen Ort in einem Naturschutzgebiet an der englischen Ostküste. Wir sind skandinavischen und deutschen Ursprungs, weswegen es uns auch immer in den Norden zog, wo wir uns zu Hause fühlen. Allerdings mussten wir auch einige Zeit z.B. in Griechenland leben, wo wir jedoch das Klima zu fürchterlich fanden. Immer dieser Sommenschein und diese Wärme, das fanden wir schrecklich, wir ‘entkamen’ glücklicher Weise schnell nach Kanada, wo es uns gut gefiel und wir viele Jahre arbeiteten.
      Jetzt hast du uns neugierig gemacht. Wir werden gleich deinen Blog besuchen.

  59. Warum einen Blog schreiben, oder besser kreieren?
    Ich nehme den Vergleich mit dem Schreiben eines Kochbuchs. Nicht die althergebrachten Kochbücher für die gute Hausfrau, von Suppe, wie man Fische, oder ein Kaninchen zerlegt, über alle Speisen bis zu Torten und Nachtisch. Ich meine die neuen, wo Menschen ihr Wissen über ihre speziellen Vorlieben von Gerichten, sei es nur ihre Lieblingsgerichte, oder über ein Thema, wie Länder, oder Orte, Kochschulen in der Toskana, oder Literatur u.s.w. mit schönen Fotos in Bücher fassen. Dann einen Verlag finden der das druckt und in Buchhandlungen verbreitet. Der, oder die Autorin hat es nach ihrem Herzenswunsch gemacht und hat danach keinen Einfluss mehr wer dieses Kochbuch kauft, wer es nur liest, oder gar eines der Rezepte nachkocht. So ähnlich geht es mit dem, der einen Blog beginnt.
    In meinem eigenen Blog schreibe ich unter – About-wer bin ich – dass ich den Blog für mich selbst so als Kreation von ausgewählten Fotos und literarischen Texten gestalte. Eine Zeiterfassung wie ein Tagebuch, oder Chronik alleine für mich. Aber in der Annahme, diese Seiten mit Menschen zu teilen. Das alleine genügt. WordPress bietet mir oft genug an mit meiner Seite Geld zu verdienen. Werbeeinschaltungen mit Klicks. Nein – im Gegenteil. Es kostet mich jährlich 100euro. Es ist ganz für mich und „gleichgesinnte“ Zuhörer.

    • Zunächst einmal herzlichen Dank für deinen Kommentar. Wir haben einen Wintergarten, den wir im Sommer als zusätzliches Zimmer benutzen, wo Klausbernd es liebt, zwischen Basilikum und Pfennigbäumen zu lesen. Die großen Landhäuser haben dann beeindruckende Gewächshäuser, die teilweise aus der viktorianischen Zeit stammen. Das Highlight sind dann die Gewächshäuser in Kew Gardens.
      In unserem Dorf sehen das unsere Nachbarn eher skeptisch, dass fast alle Vorschriften ab Montag aufgehoben sind. Allerdings ist hier jeder seit einiger Zeit zweimal geimpft und die Inzidenzrate liegt bei 0 seit etwa 5 Wochen in unserem Verwaltungsbezirk. Wir denken dennoch, es ist zu früh. Die steigenden Infektionzahlen sind zwar auf einige Schwerpiunkte in Mittel- und Nordengland (noch) beschränkt. Wir haben jedoch die Befürchtung, dass Touristen Corona einschleppen könnten. Es gibt eine gewisse Aggression der Einheimischen, auch von uns, gegen die Touristen an unserer Küste.

    • *grins* die Anfeindung ist wohl mehr wie menschlich, ist hier genau so…denn alle Einheimischen handeln trotz Lockerungen immer noch streng nach Vorschrift,,,immer Maske, vor allem beim Shopping, ob jemand Vollimpfung nachweisen will oder sonst was, Hausrecht schreibt Maske vor. Nordfriesen sind nicht stur, nur bei Corona will keiner zuviel Änderungen. Touris aus anderen Bundesländern mußten schon Zettel an der Frontscheibe lesen, die nicht zimperlich Rückfahrt forderten…ja so ist leider 2021 sehr oft viel unfairer geworden…aber man kanns oft verstehen! LG

  64. I blog simply to share my passion. I love wine, food, travel, so these are the subjects for the blog. I read it way back that when you blog, you do it first and foremost for yourself – this is what I’m trying to do. Just to share a bit of my world view without any shots for fame and glory – this is how I see it.
    The subjects are easy to find ( I think) – the inspiration for writing is a different animal, however. That, sometimes, is akin herding the cats…

  73. Came here after your comment on a post in my blog. It’s simple the reason why I blog, I love editing posts and I love music. So I sit in front of the computer listening to music; if I like it, I post about it. Sometimes a photo or a video or even the music itself. All this organizes my listening, using the right categories and tags I can keep everything accessible. The blog is a box of musical memories. Of course, I like keeping the box clean and attractive, not just for me but also for those who visit it, they can use it the same way I do, if they like it. And I love when they do it! 😁

  74. I can’t tell anyone why they blog or why they should blog, but I can tell you why I do it. I have shared my travels online for some years, on various platforms, through both text and photography, although the latter is my main passion. With the pandemic, travelling stopped and around the same time I retired. I needed a new hobby and several friends who were blogging told me I would enjoy it, so I started my blog as a way to share my photos and tales from my past travels while waiting to be able to travel again. It has since evolved – the photography is still important and travel is at the heart of the writing but I have also discovered and thrown myself into some of the many challenges. They stimulate my creativity – whether it means going out taking new photos or re-editing and re-purposing what I have already. When I CAN travel again I will, but I will also keep blogging, although there may be some gaps in the frequency of my posts I guess!

      Well, there are many reasons for blogging. In the end one could ask why do you want to share something. My favourite editor at Random House (I worked with for many years) always asked me why do I want to share this or that in my books or interviews. I suppose that’s the important question.

  76. I blog for several reasons. When I began, 8 years ago (???) it was to share my short (short) stories of fun fiction and non-fiction, and to gain readers who might like my books. But blogging quickly became much more than that. I have connected with so many wonderful people all over the world. I read dozens of blogs every week and learn about THEIR world and read THEIR stories, and I learn and grow. So, to me, blogging is a win/win. Keep on blogging, please. Your philosophy, your photography, your fun chatty style. It all works.

    • In a way, we started to blog to sponsor our dear Master’s books. Soon it got much more than that for us as well. We asked ourselves why to advertise our Master’s books because his publishers are much better at this. About ten (??) years ago we started blogging more and more in the way we do it now. We as well like to learn from others, from their comments as well as from their blogs. We love it and promise we’ll go on blogging.

      thanks a lot for your honest comment. We just read that you are a little sailor. We are as well, although our little dinghy is just resting in our garden. Sailing would be something to blog about f.e. On the other hand, if you don’t have fun writing or presenting your ideas then you don’t need to blog.

  81. I want it to give a feel of walking into my dorm room (when i had one) and chatting with friends. Some post may not have title like my status updates. This is done to follow the Old style blogging which i advocate. In the earlier times when blogging was still new There were no “rules” about what a post had to look like or be. No titles. No format. Just some thoughts and a bunch of links for the day. This is the feel I’m trying to recapture

    • Thank you very much for your interesting reply.
      We prefer the style of blogging that’s the norm nowadays. When we were still working, we quite often wrote articles for magazines and papers which were like modern blogposts. The old style is more subjective but one could call it egocentric as well.

    • Unfortunately, we have to agree concerning disinformative. Some bloggers blog so often that they don’t have time to research properly or they don’t even bother. On the other hand, there are quite some blogs around with high-quality information usually run by specialists.

  82. I started blogging for penning down my thoughts, incidents, things that inspire me or anything that’s been playing on my mind for too long. Blogging gives me an outlet of sorts after a long, tiring day. I haven’t blogged a lot but I definitely intend to because it always makes me feel really good once I write about something that I feel passionately about. Your blogs are an interesting read. If you guys need a break, you surely deserve it. We, the readers, are sure that your comeback to the blogging world will be more inspiring than ever! Cheers to The Fab Four of Cley 🎉🎉🎉

    • Ja, natürlich. Der Kommentar ist das Salz an der Suppe.
      Und ja, loslassen ist das, was mich von Zwängen befreit.
      Zahlen sind nicht mein Ding, und massenhaft Follower mögen einen stolz machen, aber es bleiben Zahlen.
      Mein Hauptvergnügen ist die Fotoplattform Flickr. Da habe ich inzwischen über 11,5 Millionen Klicks und eine Menge Follower. Trotzdem folge ich nur 100 Fotografen, denn es ist mir wichtig, die Aufnahmen zu genießen und auch etwas dazu zu sagen.
      Nur in rasender Geschwindigkeit ein Foto (oder hier bei WordPress einen Beitrag) zu faven um eventuell auch einen Fav zu bekommen ist nicht mein Begehr *lol*

      naja, Zahlen sind eine relativ objektive Beschreibung der Wirklichkeit und ihrer Tendenzen. Wir wollen schon mit unserem Blog gewissen Diskussionen und Auseinandersetzungen initiieren. Unter einem gewissen traffic würden wir nicht bloggen. Auf jeden Fall sagen uns die Zahlen und die Analyse deren Entwicklung, wie wir mit welcher Post ankommen und mit welcher nicht. Immerhin wollen wir ja unseren Besuchern dienen – allerdings uns auch.
      Unser Masterchen führt regelmäßig eine statische Analyse durch.
      Warum bist du nicht an Followers interessiert?
      Flickr ist nicht unser Medium. Uns geht’s, wie geschrieben, um eine intellektuelle Auseinandersetzung.

      was du hier ansprichst, ist ja das (eigentlich mittelalterliche) do-ut-des-Prinzip des Bloggens. Aber im Grunde ist das ja die Abbildung des gesellschaftlichen und ökonomischen Austausches in unserer Gesellschaft. Bei Bloggen nimmt das viel Zeit, seine Kollegen regelmäßig zu besuchen.

  90. I really enjoyed seeing this post – too few people write about the challenges they experience with blogging itself, especially the “Why?” of blogging. Though my blog leans heavily toward images, I too understand the challenge of wanting to write, to marry text and image, and to have a wider focus raises. But, of course, that just shows that you’re interesting, multi-dimensional people! 😉
    Not content to simply show photos or only write about philosophical issues, you successfully do both. (I did photo challenges when I first began blogging but I outgrew them. They helped me focus in the beginning). I don’t think one needs to post regularly unless you are trying to make money in some way from your blogging. If it’s for the pleasure of your readers and yourself, then post as often as the muse kisses and don’t worry about losing followers, right?
    For me, an important goal is self-expression; the twin goal of that is connecting with people: engaging in dialogue and exchanging inspirations.
    As for a connection between a clear goal and plenty of ideas, it doesn’t seem like that is the case with me. My goal isn’t narrow or concisely focused – it can encompass a lot. But I don’t lack ideas either. There are half a dozen or more post ideas already in my WP drafts and more scribbled on pieces of paper that fly around my desk. It’s time that I want more of, time to photograph, to blog, to connect with others, to see their work, and to be inspired by art and nature wherever they lead me. No worries about ideas!

      We agree, blogging is first of all self expression – but unfortunately some bloggers don’t have anything to expess 😉 For them these photo-challenges are made, we suppose. Some friends of our’s don’t like or comment posts that are part of such a challenge.
      For us, there is the challenge that we always need a topic we can illustrate with Dina’s pictures. We want to find our topics by ourselves and not blog for the sake of blogging.

  93. Well, you could try to reverse that and ask, What not to blog about? Virtually anything is blog-worthy. If you have a story to tell, you do it. If you’re a storyteller at heart, you’ll find a way to spin a yarn. The best name for this is storyteller. I never quite warmed up to “content provider.”

      We suppose a text can be not blog-worthy for many reasons. First of all, if it’s just repeating what everybody knows and if it’s full of clichés. Discriminating and fascist texts we would see as not blog-worthy and actually all boring texts. Furthermore we expect a fastidious and entertaining style.
      There are probably much more reasons for seeing a text not blog-worthy.

  95. Hallo Klaus-Bernd, hier scrollt man sich ja fast einen Wolf durch die vielen Kommentare – wow. Wer bist du? Ein Menschenfischer? Entdeckt habe ich dich durch deinen Kommentar bei Bernhard – überaus ehrlich und das ist fast schon ungewöhnlich. Aber ich mag das. Auch deine Überlegungen in diesem Beitrag sind mir nicht neu. Ich mag selbst die wenigsten Themenprojekte. Aber als begeisterte Naturfotografin bin ich dann doch immer wieder dabei. Und ich blogge, weil es mir Freude bereitet. Nicht zuletzt deshalb habe ich darüber gerade erst ein Buch geschrieben. Ich mag Anderen meine Welt, meine Hobbys zeigen und selbst immer wieder Neues kennenlernen. Deshalb habe ich auch selten das Problem, nicht zu wissen, worüber ich schreiben soll.

  97. So many thoughts already. I think if you have an interest , there will be others will share it. If you have an opinion, others will love to dispute it, and if you have a photograph others will always admire it. There is a blog sized hole for everybody and a willing audience. Just be sure to entertain yourselves as well as your audience for if you get bored, they will know and start to leave. No harm in broaching a variety of subjects if you want to,, quite a few bloggers are not subject specific but if you’re happy with what you know, that should be enough.
    Good luck, though it doesn’t look like you need it.

    • Ja, das ist mir auch neulich aufgefallen: im Traumdeutungsbuch steht “Objektebene” und “Subjektebene” (?) oder? Dann mache ich mal meine subjektive Neugier zum Objekt meiner Suche nach noch mehr Klarheit über das Thema deines Podcasts und freue mich schon darauf! Vielleicht gibt es ja auch einen einfacheren Weg! Aber halt nur vielleicht…

  104. I forgot to answer the question. I’ve been blogging for 10 years and I blog for connection. It doesn’t matter what the subject of the day is, it’s whether we can all relate in some way to it. I use a lot of amateur photos and my amateur writing to connect with the rest of the world. I have to take lots of breaks and do not write every day. Only when I think something might resonate with others.

  105. Moin. Eine sinnhafte Frage und ad hoc antworte ich: Aus Lust an der Freude. Doch das ist nur die halbe Wahrheit. Es geht mir auch, heute mehr denn je, mich für eine “bessere Welt”, einzusetzen. Jedenfalls eine, die ich – aufgrund meiner Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen – heute für besser halte, nämlich mit mehr Nachhaltigkeit und weniger Ausbeutung unseres Planeten, mehr Ökologie und mehr Frieden. Dazu möchte ich immer wieder meinen Finger in die sprichwörtliche Wunde legen. Und wenn wir viele sind, die das tun, erreichen wir vielleicht etwas. I hope so 😉
    In meinem Fotoblog möchte ich einfach nur, just for fun, meine Fotos mit meinen Besuchern teilen. Wem’s gefällt ist gut, wem nicht, ist’s auch gut. Was würde es denn nutzen, wenn die ihr Dasein nur auf meiner Festplatte bzw. in meiner Cloud fristen würden?

      unsere Gründe zu bloggen sind auch neben der Freude aufklärerisch. Allerdings ist es auch so, dass ich glaube, dass wer viel liest als Ausgleich auch schreiben sollte.
      Wir sind oft erschrocken wie sogenannte Naturfreunde wie Birdwatcher (die es hier zuhauf gibt), Naturfotografen etc. jede Nachhaltigkeit in ihrem Handeln vermissen lassen. Sie fliegen um die halbe Welt, um dann damit anzugeben, einen besonderen Vogel oder anderes Tier gesehen und fotografiert zu haben. Gegen solche Verirrungen, zumindest aus unserer Sicht, wollen wir anschreiben. Ob’s nutzt, wer weiß?

  106. Hallo,
    bin gerade erst über euren tollen Blog gestolpert und daher etwas spät dran mit meinem Kommentar. Aber es ist nie zu spät, sagt man zumindest.
    Bei mir war es so, dass ich die skurillen Ideen zu meinen Urlaubsfotos anfangs im Whatsappstatus für meine Freunde und Familie eingetragen habe. Dabei hat es mich irgendwann geärgert, dass die Gedankenschnipsel sich nach 24 Stunden wie in Säure von alleine auflösen und für immer weg sind.
    Dann kam die Coronazwangspause und ich hab meinen Blog aufgesetzt, damit die Gedanken hoffentlich etwas länger Bestand haben.
    Mein Ziel ist, anderen Leuten ab und zu ein Lächeln zu entlocken. So wenig und doch so viel. Wenn dann manchmal Jemand kommentiert und mir zurück meldet, dass er Spaß beim Lesen hatte, dann bin ich sehr zufrieden.
    Und nebenbei macht es auch einfach Spaß, mir lustige Situationen auszudenken.

    • Danke, freut mich. Der Name kam eigentlich von einem spontanen Witz als wir nach einer Urlaubsreise zurück kamen und erkannten, dass wir jetzt wieder da waren, wo wir vor der Reise auch schon waren. Zuhause, also alles ziemlich sinnlos.

    • Wir denken, Reisen ist an sich ziemlich sinnlos. Die Zeit des Reisens scheint uns vorbei zu sein. Es macht ja eh keinen Spaß mehr zu reisen. Wir mussten für Jahre ständig reisen, so etwa 150x fliegen im Jahr. Aber heutiges Reisens ist eher eine Zumutung als Spaß.
