Who are The Fab Four of Cley

The Fab Four are Dina-Hanne Siebers and Klausbernd Vollmar, the Master of the two wise Bookfayries Siri and Selma. Dina-Hanne is Norwegian and a dedicated photographer, Klausbernd is German and a professional author and Siri and Selma are from Fairyland and magically clever. We live in England. Since 2011, we blog about everything we love. That’s foremost art and literature, photography and everything we connect with the North – from nature to culture – and about the symbolism of colours.

Die Fab Four sind Dina-Hanne Siebers, Klausbernd Vollmar, aka Masterchen, und unsere liebklugen Buchfeen Siri und Selma. Dina ist Norwegerin und leidenschaftliche Fotografin, Klausbernd ist Deutscher und Buchautor, und Siri und Selma stammen aus dem Feenland und besitzen eine magische Cleverness. Wir leben in England. Seit 2011 bloggen wir über unsere Liebhabereien, speziell Kunst und Literatur, Fotografie und alles, was wir mit dem Norden verbinden, wie auch über Farbsymbolik.

  2. P.S.: Nur die Pull-Down Menüs scheinen [zumindest bei mir in Firefox] nicht zu funktionieren. Sie klappen zwar auf, aber wenn ich dann einen Menüpunkt anklicken will, verschwindet das gesamte Untermenü.

  3. P.P.S.: Seltsam! Manchmal funktionieren die Aufklappmenüs, manchmal nicht. Ich habe noch keine Gesetzmäßigkeit dabei feststellen könne. In Google Chrome scheint übrigens alles immer zu klappen.

    muss Dich mal kurz zu Infos fragen:
    “wie leicht ist die Bedienung beim FULLFRAME Theme ???”

    bin schon mit allen Premium Themes durch und immer gefällt es mir am besten,
    aber wenn ich meine Site testhalber umwandeln will, erscheinen nicht alle Posts
    von mir mit Bild. Muss man evtl. noch weitere Tools dazu ordern ?

    schreib doch mal, ob es gut zu installieren ist, oder ob Du Mängel festgestellt hast – ich wollte
    zuerst zum Avid (erscheint komplizierter w. Platzhalter Images) oder zu Photographer, aber der Bildtext im Bild gefällt mir sehr…

    schön daß Du es schon im Einsatz hast, sonst hab ich es nur noch bei Mitch gesehen …

    • Lieber Werner,
      ich habe die einfache Variante gewählt, den Standard Full Frame. Einige Blogger haben ein Premium Theme gekauft. Wenn for dem Theme “Cutomized” steht, bedeutet dass, die die weitere 20-50€ investiert haben. Das ergibt dann mehr Farben und Schriftbilder zu Auswahl auch oft mehr Speicherplatz etc.

      Wenn man sich damit auseinander setzt ist es eigentlich ercht spielerisch leicht. Ih habe mit dem Hintergrundbild probleme, das Support Forum hat sich darum gekümmert, sehr nett und hilfreich.
      Die Bilder können bei dir in der Testversion nicht so erscheinen, wie die Bilder bei mir auf Home. Du musst in jedem Artikel ein Titelbild festlegen, erst dann erscheint es. Ich habe bis jetzt nicht viel Zeit gehabt mich mit alten Artikel zu befassen, das Layout muss teilweise leicht korrigiert werden damit es besser wirkt etc. Da ist jedoch eine Arbeit die sich lohnt. Die Bilder sollten für dieses Format eine optimal Weite von 1280 haben, das wird alles sehr klar und deutlich erklärt in der Einführung vn WP. Die Resonanz ist sehr gut, ich würde sagen, probier es aus: Augen zu und durch! 🙂

  49. I am pleased to discover your blog. Firstly because it is well written and the photography is wonderful. Also my ancestry is Norwegian, many of my family have travelled to Norway but I have not. My daughter even speaks Swedish as she spent a year in Malmo. Norway is a beautiful country, and thank you for sharing your amazing country and experiences in your blog.

  54. I just wanted to say thanks for the follow, my first from Norway I think. I spent a few days in Oslo in my younger days at a conference taking notes and remember it as a town with houses in between the trees. I am originally a Londoner although lived for now 50 years in Switzerland. I will definitely drop by now and again – you have some wonderful photos here.

I’d love your advice on where to visit in the snowy north next December 2017 with an 8 year old girl for some magical winter beauty, activities and possibly a Santa experience though the latter is not necessary.     • Well, our problem is that we idealise Siri and Selma, they are not children any more, well, they are fairies. Therefore we really don’t know where to go in the North for meeting father Christmas. We liked it in Finland in Saariselkä, Finnish Lapland. There you can take part in many activities, you will see aurora borealis and meet the indigenous people there. But we have to admit the last time we have been there is some years ago. But you know you can exspect minus 20 to minus 30 C. You have to think about clothing very well from boots to gloves. We love such clear cold weather – you know it is dark there all the time – but we suppose children have to get used to it – but Siri and Selma didn’t.
      There are centres at the Kebnekaise in northern Sweden too. We cannot afford to go to Norway it’s just too expensive there, therefore we don’t know of such places there.

    • If you go to Norway you should drive the Atlantic Coast Road – by a lot of journalists elected as the most beautiful road in the world.
      It’s great – best time is autumn, when you see many whales there.

Although I live halfway across the planet and have never visited the land you capture so majestically with your photographic eye, I have always felt drawn to the mystique and adventurous spirit of Norway. And even though it is a far cry from what it certainly is, one of my favorite places to visit locally (in Florida) is the Norway pavilion at Epcot. We watch the Illuminations firework show from the shores of the Norway pavilion each and every time we are there. It is as if some of that Norway magic has somehow found its way across the Atlantic Ocean an into my heart. I look forward to following your blog and living vicariously through your gift of sharing such a beautiful part of our planet 🙂

  82. Hello Dina. You read a post of mine – Tears For All The Year – I believe I also put piano music I recorded on that one. It was written for a man in prison. I think I might have put that post on both of my blogs, mynameisjamie.net and watchandwhirl.com. Jamie is the man in prison. The other blog is a wide variety of writings and reblogs when I need a break away from such serious material. I Just posted the prologue to a book I am writing about him called, “Inside The Forbidden Outside” . I’m rewriting the first draft and want people’s reactions and reasons why they would or would not keep reading. I did glance through all your recent posts. I love the photography. I need to come back and take a slower, closer look. I have always been fascinated with that part of the world and the history. Seeing what is happening to our planet brings me great sadness because of the destruction that keeps happening. We need as many photos as we can so we never forget.

  105. Obwohl meine Reiseeindrücke erst folgen werden, bin ich wieder zurück in Liguria. Warum ich schreibe: Ich besuche seit einiger Zeit eine für mich sehr spannende Blog-Seite.
